SolCard Now Takes wBTC and wETH Top-Ups on Solana
SolCard now accepts wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC) and wrapped Ether (wETH) on Solana for card top-ups. They join SOL, USDC and USDT on Solana and the major EVM networks, USDT on Tron, USDG and EURC. For anyone whose Bitcoin or Ether exposure already sits in a Solana wallet, the sell-withdraw-top-up sequence collapses into one transfer.
Only the Portal mints are credited
Several wrapped BTC and wrapped ETH tokens circulate on Solana and they are not interchangeable. SolCard credits two mints, both bridged by Portal (Wormhole):

cbBTC, zBTC and tBTC are separate mints and are not credited as wBTC. WBTC or WETH held on Ethereum, Base or Arbitrum cannot be sent to a Solana deposit address either. Both mistakes look the same from the wallet side: a transfer that confirms on-chain and never shows up on the card. Most Solana wallets print the mint on the token detail page, and Solscan resolves either address above.
The balance stops tracking BTC and ETH the moment the deposit confirms
SolCard cards are denominated in US dollars. A wBTC or wETH deposit converts to USD on confirmation, and the card balance then holds still whichever way Bitcoin or Ether moves. Conversion is also a disposal for tax purposes in many countries, the same as a sale on an exchange. Funding a card this way skips the exchange, not the taxable event.
The exchange leg is the part that disappears
Solana network fees run to fractions of a cent, so the top-up hop costs almost nothing. The saving sits in the steps it replaces: a sale, a stablecoin withdrawal and a second transfer, each carrying a fee and its own chance to mis-address. SolCard has not published a rate or spread for the wBTC and wETH conversion, so the price of the crypto-to-dollar step cannot be checked before the deposit lands.
