SolCard Adds USDT on Tron, USDG and EURC Top-Ups
SolCard now accepts three more assets for card top-ups: USDT on Tron, USDG on Robinhood Chain, and EURC on Solana. They sit alongside the assets the card already took — USDC and USDT on Solana and the major EVM networks, plus SOL and other Solana tokens.
The Tron route removes a swap, not a fee
Tron holds more USDT than any other network, and SolCard's stated reason for adding it is that a balance earned or received there previously had to be swapped or bridged before it could reach the card. Sending TRC-20 USDT directly removes that hop.
What does not disappear is the cost of the send itself. Tron transfers consume energy and bandwidth, paid in TRX, so the sending wallet needs a small TRX balance even though the transfer is denominated in USDT. The same pattern applies to USDG: Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2, so the sending wallet needs a little ETH on that chain for gas. "No bridging" describes one fewer transaction, not a free one.
EURC moves the euro conversion to the top-up
SolCard cards are denominated in US dollars. EURC is a euro stablecoin, so a EURC top-up is converted to USD at the moment it lands, not at the checkout.
That is worth separating from how a euro balance usually behaves on a dollar card. If you hold euros and spend in euros on a USD card, the conversion happens at authorization, on the card network's rate. Funding with EURC instead settles the euro-to-dollar question once, up front, and everything after that is a dollar balance spending dollars. Which of the two is better depends entirely on the rate applied at each point, and SolCard's announcement does not publish the EURC conversion rate or spread.
One practical limit comes with it: EURC top-ups are available in the web dashboard at app.solcard.cc, not everywhere else the card is managed.
Matching the network is the failure point
Each of these assets exists on several chains, and the deposit address is network-specific. SolCard states plainly that USDT sent on Ethereum to a Tron deposit address, or EURC sent on Ethereum to a Solana address, is not credited. Adding networks widens the set of ways a deposit can be addressed correctly and the set of ways it can be addressed wrongly at the same time.
