Avici Referrals Pay 2% for 90 Days, Then 0.1%
Avici has launched a referral program that pays the referrer a share of what invited friends spend on their Avici cards, instead of a one-off signup bonus. The announced rate is 2%, with a temporary 3% for existing users who ask for it and automatic inclusion for anyone past $10,000 of spend. Avici's documentation attaches a 90-day limit to that rate.
The 2% covers each friend's first 90 days
The rate applies to a referred friend's eligible card spending for 90 days, counted from the moment they finish profile verification. After that the rate falls to the referrer's level rate: 0.1% at Level 1, 0.2% at Level 2, 0.25% at Level 3 and 0.3% at Level 4. Everyone starts at Level 1, so the ordinary shape of the program is 2% for three months and a twentieth of that from then on.
Levels unlock at 10, 30 and 100 qualified referrals, and a new level's rate applies to friends already invited once their own 90 days are up. Level 4 pays 0.3%, which is still a sixth of the launch rate, and it takes 100 qualified referrals to get there.
A friend who signs up is not yet a qualified referral
Two separate $100 thresholds sit in this program and they do different jobs.
- The referred friend has to spend $100 in eligible transactions within 30 days of finishing profile verification. That is what makes them a qualified referral, and qualified referrals are what count toward levels and milestone bonuses.
- The referrer has to have spent $100 in eligible, settled transactions on their own card before any reward can be claimed. This threshold has no deadline.
So a referrer who never uses their own Avici card keeps accruing rewards that stay unclaimable.
The per-referral payment rises from $5 to $10 across four levels
Each qualified referral pays $5 up to the tenth, $7 from the 11th through the 30th, $9 from the 31st through the 100th and $10 from the 101st onward. One-time milestone bonuses of $25, $75 and $250 land at 10, 30 and 100 qualified referrals. The tenth referral itself pays $5 and unlocks the $25; the eleventh pays $7. On the other side, a friend who joins through a referral gets an $8 welcome bonus rather than the standard $5.
Cash withdrawals, wallet top-ups and tax payments are excluded
Whole merchant categories earn nothing and count toward neither $100 threshold: ATM withdrawals and cash disbursements (MCC 6010, 6011), money and wire transfers (4829), quasi-cash purchases (6051), wallet top-ups and funding transactions (6540), gambling and betting (7800, 7801, 7802, 7995), government payments including taxes, fines, courts and bail (9211, 9222, 9223, 9311, 9399, 9402, 9405) and insurance (6300, 5960).
That list bites hardest on the qualification clock. A friend who spends their first $100 topping up a wallet or pulling cash from an ATM has moved no closer to qualifying, and the 30-day window keeps running while they do it.
Rewards land in USDC after 30 days pending
Rewards are paid in USDC into the card spend balance. Each one sits pending for 30 days before it becomes claimable, and a claim covers only the amounts that have cleared that period. Claiming happens on the Referrals screen in the app, which shows total, pending and claimable separately.
Separate from all of this, a monthly leaderboard pays $1,000, $500 and $250 to the top three referrers and resets every month.
The arithmetic worth running is the 90-day one rather than the headline. At Level 1, a friend spending $1,000 a month returns $60 across their first three months and $1 a month after that.
